Singer to raise funds for Christian camp

BANGOR – National recording artist Mark Harris, who was with the Christian group 4Him for 15 years, will perform a benefit concert 6 p.m. Sunday at Bangor Baptist Church on outer Broadway.

Courtney Streb, a new artist, will open the show.

The concert is sponsored by WHCF, a Christian radio station in Bangor.

Harris released his first solo album three years ago. The song “Find Your Wings” was a hit and won “Inspirational Song of the Year” at the 2006 Dove Awards.

There is no admission charge for the concert but a love offering will be taken to support Chop Point’s International Camping Program in Nicaragua.

Chop Point, located in Woolwich, is nonprofit corporation that operates multiple Christian ministries including:

. A summer camp for teenagers from around the world.

. A K-12 school for local students.

. A summer camp in Nicaragua, called Campo Alegria, for disadvantaged local children that also serves as a social service project for school and church groups.
