LEBANON – Camden-Rockport’s Caleb McFarland hit a two-run home run in the sixth inning for a one-run lead en route to a 9-7 victory for Camden-Rockport over Saco for the state title in the ages 11-12 division in Little League All-Star baseball action Sunday.
Camden-Rockport advances to the East Regionals in Bristol, Conn. Play begins on Friday.
Saco took an early 4-0 lead in the first inning, but Camden-Rockport scored three runs in the third inning and three more in the fifth to take a 6-4 lead.
Saco scored three times in the bottom of the fifth, but McFarland’s two-run shot put Camden-Rockport back on top. Miles Safford added an insurance run later in the inning.
Chandler Crans hit a third-inning homer for Camden-Rockport.
On Saturday, Saco defeated Cumberland/North Yarmouth 9-6 in six innings for the right to play Camden-Rockport for the state title.
Saco scored four runs in the first two innings and capped the scoring with five runs in the fifth to win.
