Corinth man killed in motorcycle crash

BANGOR – A Corinth man died Saturday as the result of a motorcycle crash on Maine Avenue.

Adam Lawrence, 28, was traveling toward Union Street about 7:45 p.m. when he lost control of his motorcycle near the intersection of Texas Avenue, according to Lt. Steve Hunt of the Bangor Police Department.

The vehicle crossed into the oncoming travel lane, left the roadway and struck a curb, Hunt said.

The impact threw Lawrence into a utility pole, killing him instantly. Lawrence was pronounced dead at the accident scene.

Lawrence was not carrying a passenger when the accident occurred, according to police.

The accident remains under investigation by the Police Department’s accident reconstruction unit, Hunt said. He said it appeared that speed and alcohol were factors in the crash.
