BANGOR – Nomination petitions are available for City Council and school committee seats to be filled during city elections on Tuesday, Nov. 6.
This year, voters will fill three of the council’s nine positions and two of the school committee’s seven seats. All positions are for three years.
In council elections, voters will fill the expiring positions of Frank Farrington, Richard Greene and Gerry Palmer.
On the school side of the ballot, voters will fill the expiring school committee seats now held by James Cox and Phyllis Shubert.
Nomination petitions, available from the city clerk’s office on the first floor of City Hall, must be returned no earlier than Aug. 18 and no later than Sept. 7.
An article about nomination petitions in Bangor on Page B3 of Monday’s paper contained incorrect information. Petitions will be available Aug. 8 for the expiring elective posts held by city Councilors Frank Farrington, Richard Greene and Gerry Palmer and school committee members Phyllis Guerette, Christine Szal and Jeff Wahlstrom. The positions will be filled on Nov. 4.
