Thompson leads Aerus to sweep Union St. Cleaners, Montville split

BANGOR – Tyler Thompson hit a home run, two singles, a double and drove in two runs to power Aerus Electrolux by Movingme 7-3 in the first game of a Sunday Bay League baseball doubleheader.

Aerus completed the sweep with a 13-3 win in the second game.

In the first game, Nate Ellis had two singles and two RBIs while Eric Roy hit a solo home run for Aerus.

James Strout doubled and singled with an RBI for Movingme. Ryan Logan hit a home run while Mike Healey had an RBI double.

In the second game, Randy Renaud and Ellis each had two doubles, a single and three RBIs for Aerus. Thompson posted two singles and a double while Joel Neill had a two-run home run and Eric Roy hit a double and a single with an RBI.

David Sutherland and Logan each hit an RBI single for Movingme.

Union St. Cleaners, Montville split

At Hermon, Union Street Cleaners scored three times in the top of the seventh inning to pull out a 4-3 victory over Montville and a split of their doubleheader Sunday at the high school field.

Montville tallied in the bottom of the seventh to nip Union Street Cleaners 2-1 in the opener.

In the first game, Roland Littlefield singled to score Andy Pooler from second base with two outs for the game-winning run.

Littlefield finished with three singles and an RBI, Pooler posted two singles and scored both runs and Nate Hall added an RBI single. Brian Morrison struck out seven and walked none to earn the win.

Deric Prescott singled twice for Union Street Cleaners.

In the second game, Billy Kane’s safety squeeze scored Scott Hackett to tie the game in the seventh, and Chris Pooler’s RBI single proved to be the winner for Union Street Cleaners.

In its half, Montville scored one run and had the bases-loaded with one out, but Union Street Cleaners turned a double play to end the game.

Kyle Leaman picked up the win and Chris McInnis got the save for Union Street Cleaners.

Hall singled twice and had an RBI for Montville, and Cameron Masters added an RBI single.
