AUGUSTA – Bangor East and Ellsworth will battle in an elimination game today at 5:30 p.m. after Bangor East eliminated Rockland Monday 2-1 in the state Little League All-Star baseball tourney for ages 9-10 .
Ellsworth posted a win in its opener on Saturday, 9-7 over Saco, but was beaten on Sunday by Cape Elizabeth 5-1 in a winners bracket game.
Bangor East lost its opener to Saco 9-4, but then eliminated Dirigo on Sunday 8-1 and beat Rockland on Monday.
The winner of Tuesday’s game advances to Wednesday’s championship round at 5:30 p.m. against unbeaten Cape Elizabeth. A Cape victory gives it the title while a loss forces a second game on Thursday at 5:30 p.m.
In Monday’s game, Ryan Brookings allowed only one run on two hits with 11 strikeouts and drove in Bangor East’s two runs with a first-inning single.
Ben Crichton and Nicholas Moore both singled and scored in the first. Crichton finished with two singles and Drew Powell doubled for the winners while Moore came on in the sixth to notch the save.
Nick Muzviek hit a solo home run for Rockland.
In Sunday’s game, an Ethan Dorman triple and a Nicholas Moore double paced the Bangor East offense. Ryan Moore picked up the victory with three innings of scoreless pitching.

Calais in championship round
At Waldoboro, Olivia Smith pitched a five-hitter with 14 strikeouts as Calais moved into the championship round with a 6-2 win over South Portland Monday.
Kaylee Johnson had a triple while Madison McVicar and Smith each hit a double for Calais.
Emily Savage posted three singles with two RBIs while Taylor Whaley added a triple and a double for South Portland.
Calais improved to 3-0 with the win and is the only unbeaten team left in the tourney. It awaits the winner from the losers bracket in a 3 p.m. championship game on Thursday. A Calais win gives it the title, a loss forces a second game later that day to decide the champ.
Bangor plays Saco today at 5 p.m. in an elimination game with the winner advancing to an elimination game against South Portland on Wednesday, also at 5 p.m.
The winner of Wednesday’s game plays Calais on Thursday.

At Waldoboro, Emily Reilly and Skylar Cassum each hit three singles and drove in a run as Bangor rolled past Rockland.
Allison Boulier hit four singles with an RBI while Eve George had two singles, a double and two RBIs for Bangor.
Emily Gould hit two singles while Emma Hall had a two-run single for Rockland.

At Waldoboro on Saturday, Olivia Smith pitched a two-hitter with 12 strikeouts to spark Calais by Saco.
Madison McVicar and Kyra Porter each hit three singles for Calais.
Alyssa Zamjohn had an RBI double for Saco.

At Waldoboro on Saturday, Kylie Martin tallied two singles, a triple and three RBIs to lead Auburn by Bangor.
Karli Stubbs doubled and singled with two RBIs while Makayla Norcross hit a three run double for Auburn.
Emily Reilly and Cordelia Stewart had two singles and two RBIs apiece for Bangor. Syndi Cosgrove had two singles and an RBI while Skylar Cassum added a two-run single.

At Waldoboro on Sunday, Kaylee Johnson tossed a no-hitter with six strikeouts as Calais cruised past Rockland in four innings.
Olivia Smith hit three singles with two RBIs while Kyra Porter doubled and singled with two RBIs. Madison McVicar hit a double and a single with an RBI while Cameron Parr added two singles.
