BREWER – The City Council held a special meeting Monday morning and approved a new operating permit for LNL Inc., which does business as Green Point Auto Parts.

The automobile recycling business was started by Randolph Spain in 1981.

“Randy Spain retired and he’s turning the business over to his daughter and son-in-law,” City Clerk Pam Ryan said Monday after the meeting.

During the meeting, councilors also approved amending the 2009 budget to incorporate changes resulting from the new economic development tax increment financing, approved last week, and paying $3,244 to United Technologies Center for the city’s annual adult education assessment.
