SEARSPORT – The Waldo County Citizen Protection Fund will hold an inaugural golf tournament to raise money for Amber Alert Child ID Kits to distribute free of charge to families in Maine.

The tournament will take place rain or shine beginning at 8 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 13, at Searsport Pines Golf Club.

The Waldo County Citizen Protection Fund is a nonprofit organization created by emergency medical dispatchers at the Waldo County Communication Center. The group is raising money to purchase Amber Alert Child ID kits to distribute free of charge to Maine families.

The kits are a portable flash drive that holds all information on a child or children including multiple pictures, and is password-protected.

The fund is looking for businesses or individuals interested in doing a hole sponsorship for the tournament at a cost of $100 a hole.

For golfers, the fund is looking for teams of four (limit 18 teams, first come, first served) to participate. The cost is $260 for a team of four with two carts. Teams should pay in advance to reserve a spot.
