PARIS – Maine State Police say the deaths of two men found over the weekend in West Paris have been ruled homicides.

Stephen McCausland of the Maine Department of Public Safety said an autopsy found that the men died from multiple gunshot wounds.

A motorist spotted the body of 50-year-old Timothy Mayberry beside a stone wall outside his home late Saturday afternoon. Police who were called to the scene found the body of 43-year-old Todd Smith inside Mayberry’s house.

Detectives have yet to discuss publicly any theories as to what happened. They’re searching a home five miles away in Sumner as they continue their investigation.
