Dr. Lisa M. Letourneau of Scarborough has been named executive director of the Manchester-based nonprofit organization Quality Counts.

Letourneau is a graduate of Brown University and continued her medical education at the Dartmouth-Brown Joint Program in Medicine, earning her medical degree in 1986. She completed her residency and internship in internal medicine at Maine Medical Center in Portland and received a master’s degree from the Harvard School of Public Health in 2002.

Letourneau will serve at Quality Counts on a part-time basis and will be assisted by a full-time associate director to be hired as soon as possible.

Quality Counts works with organizations and communities to improve health care for the people of Maine. Its goals are to improve health status, promote consistent delivery of high quality care, improve access to health care and contain health care costs.
