PORTLAND – A 25-year-old Windham man has been sentenced to 31/2 years in prison for manslaughter and drunken driving in a motor vehicle accident that killed a mother of two.

Jeffrey Morse, who pleaded guilty earlier this month, was sentenced Wednesday in Cumberland County Superior Court.

Morse was behind the wheel of a pickup truck in a collision on Route 202 in Windham that killed 37-year-old Christine Candelmo of Gorham in December 2006. Her two children, 13 and 2, were injured in the accident.

The prosecution recommended a six-year sentence, while the defense sought two to three years.
