BANGOR – The social action agency Penquis is seeking donations of products and services for this year’s Harvest Housewarming Dinner and Auction to benefit the agency’s Keep ME Warm Fund.

This winter, more than 2,000 families are expected to ask Penquis for help heating their homes and won’t be eligible for any federal assistance.

Some will have just recently lost jobs, while others will have jobs that don’t pay enough to make ends meet. Some will have medical problems that strain their budgets, or will be on fixed incomes that no longer can handle the increased costs of living.

A Harvest Housewarming will be held Oct. 25 at a location to be announced in Bangor. Penquis is seeking weekend getaways, furniture, original or limited-edition prints, gift certificates, services and consultations, theme gift baskets, recreational equipment, original handcrafted items and other creative contributions.

To donate, contact Maria Staples, events coordinator, at 973-3586 or e-mail mstaples@penquis.org. Forms also are available online at www.penquis.org.
