A Maine State Police trooper shot a man Monday night in Albion after responding to a domestic violence call.

Details of the incident, including the man’s identity, weren’t available late Monday night, but Maine Department of Public Safety spokesman Stephen McCausland said the shooting took place along Main Street.

The man’s condition wasn’t known, but he was scheduled to be taken to an area hospital by LifeFlight helicopter, according to McCausland.

No one else was injured in the incident. As with any police-involved shooting, the state Attorney General’s Office was sending a team to investigate, McCausland said shortly after 11 p.m.

State Police also had an investigation unit at the scene.
