WATERVILLE – The Mid Maine Chamber of Commerce will hold the 16th annual Taste of Greater Waterville on Aug. 6. Downtown businesses also will kick off the first day of their annual Summer Sidewalk Sales, which will continue until Aug. 8.
In addition to live music, food, and family activities, this year’s Taste has an extra twist. Waterville Main Street and the city’s Sustainability Committee have teamed up to coordinate an Energy Expo to Street from noon to 7 p.m. at 90-100 Main St. during the event.
The Energy Expo was envisioned to provide residents and businesses with information to help them understand the importance of energy alternatives, conservation, and the simple ways that they can change their behavior to save money and make a positive impact on energy use.
Some of the exhibitors and vendors, which include governmental groups, businesses, and nonprofit organizations, will be selling and advocating for energy efficiency or renewable practices and products.
Current vendors include: Efficiency Maine, Governor’s Carbon Challenge, KVCAP, Maine State Housing Authority, Natural Resources Council of Maine, Maine Department of Environmental Protection, Waterville Main Street, and Waterville’s Sustainability Committee.
