BEAVER COVE – Beaver Cove Marina will celebrate National Marina Day 2008 on Saturday, Aug. 9. There will be free music and guest speakers.
The day’s schedule includes pony rides at 10 a.m., a presentation on “High Impact Warm Season Weather” by Tony Sturey from the National Weather Service in Caribou at 11:30 a.m.; live bluegrass music by Jerks of Grass at 12:30 p.m.; a presentation titled “The Threat of Aquatic Invasive Species in Maine” by Roberta Hill from the Maine Volunteer Lake Monitoring Program at 3:30 p.m., and country and beach music by Vintage Country at 5 p.m.
All activities are at Beaver Cove Marina, off Lily Bay Road, Beaver Cove.
Any donations are welcome and will benefit the local food pantry and heating assistance programs.
