PRESQUE ISLE – Maine Centers for Women, Work, and Community will offer “Introduction to Self-Employment,” a free introductory training on how to start your own business, at several locations in Aroostook County.
The workshop will be offered 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in three locations: Thursday, Aug. 21, at the Van Buren Community Center; Wednesday, Aug. 27, at the David Bernard Community Center in Fort Fairfield; and Thursday, Sept. 4, at the Caribou Learning Center.
The workshop covers the pros and cons of owning your own business, how to get started, the major elements of a business plan, resources available in Aroostook County and statewide, and whether self-employment is the right choice for you.
The “Introduction to Self-Employment” workshop is open to anyone considering starting a business. Business owners who want a refresher on writing a business plan, marketing and market research, and financial cash flow planning are also welcome to attend.
Preregistration is required, and there is no fee for the workshop. For information or to register, contact Erica Quin-Easter, microenterprise coordinator at Women, Work & Community at 764-0050 or erica.quineaster@maine.edu.
