PORTLAND – Officials say photos that were shared on the Internet helped trigger an investigation into an alleged underage drinking party in Portland after Deering High School won the state baseball championship.
Three assistant coaches were dismissed as a result of the June incident.
Parents and students called school administrators after photos of the party were posted on popular social networking sites.
Deering Principal Ken Kunin said the photos helped confirm that the three coaches were at the party.
Portland police are continuing their investigation, which could lead to alcohol-related charges.
