CASCO – Searchers have recovered the body of a missing swimmer in Maine’s Sebago Lake.
Neighbors said the swimmer, Art Lester of Casco, headed out to his sailboat Thursday morning after it came off its mooring about 100 yards from the beach and was on his way back when he disappeared in the water.
Lester was a longtime meteorological technician at the National Weather Service in Gray.
Al Wheeler, the meteorologist in charge at the station, said Lester was the voice of the station when it recorded its own radio weather broadcasts and that many listeners complained when he was replaced by a computer recording.
