ST. ALBANS – The town of St. Albans has received a $5,055 dividend check from the Maine Municipal Association as a result of its excellent claim experience. The association offers three insurance-related self-funded pools for municipal and quasi-public entries in Maine: the Worker’s Compensation Fund and Unemployment Compensation Fund, both formed in 1978 and the Property and Casualty Pool formed in 1987. The programs are overseen by governing boards of elected and appointed municipal officials. Each year the boards review the programs overall loss experience to determine whether dividends may be paid.
