MAPLETON – Maine Department of Transportation crews will be detouring traffic around a short portion of the Hughes Road as crews install a concrete box culvert on Libby Brook starting Tuesday, Aug. 12.

Libby Brook runs under the Hughes Road just 500 feet north of the intersection of Route 163 and the Hughes Road. The structure currently over Libby Brook cannot be repaired and needs to be replaced. During the construction period, traffic will be detoured to sections of Station Street and Morrison Street.

Crews plan to have the new box culvert installed and road improvements completed by Aug. 29.
