Eastern Maine wins 2 in tournament Rhody Rippers’ four-run sixth inning prevents Eagles sweep on Sunday

WARWICK, R.I. – The Eastern Maine Eagles finished with two wins in the Summer Blast AAU 10-year-old baseball tournament over the weekend. The Eagles defeated the Rhode Island Reds 7-5 in Saturday’s opening game and lost to the Rhode Island Rays 12-5 in the nightcap.

WARWICK, R.I. – The Eastern Maine Eagles finished with two wins in the Summer Blast AAU 10-year-old baseball tournament over the weekend.

The Eagles defeated the Rhode Island Reds 7-5 in Saturday’s opening game and lost to the Rhode Island Rays 12-5 in the nightcap. On Sunday, Eastern Maine won 5-4 over the North Andover Firebirds of Massachusetts in the first game, but dropped the second game 6-5 to the Rhody Rippers.

In Saturday’s first game, Matt Pushard hit a two-run double in the fourth inning to lead Eastern Maine. Ryan Moore had two singles and an RBI. Jake Coro doubled and tripled as Zack Albaneese hit two singles.

In Saturday’s second game, Thomas Berduce hit a three-run home run in the first inning to lead the Reds.

Liam Reading, Logan Rogerson and Eric Hoogterp doubled for Eastern Maine.

In Sunday’s first game, Reading broke up the 4-4 tie with an RBI triple in the fifth inning to lead the Eagles. Corbin Sherman and Dakota Batchelder both hit two singles.

Mike Lisio singled three times to pace North Andover.

In Sunday’s second game, the Rhody Rippers scored four times in the sixth inning to win.

Nick Provost hit a home run for the Rippers and Ryan O’Neil added a double.

Nicholas Moore, Trevor DeLaite and Jordan Dysart each singled twice for Eastern Maine.
