PORTLAND – A West Bath man is going to prison after pleading guilty to using the Internet to arrange for sex with an underage girl.
South Portland police say 52-year-old Terry Lee pleaded guilty Wednesday in Cumberland County Superior Court to attempted gross sexual assault and solicitation of a child by computer to commit a prohibited act.
He was sentenced to five years in prison, with four of those years suspended, followed by three years probation. He will have to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.
Lee was one of four men arrested in South Portland in January 2007 in a sex sting in which a member of the civilian watchdog group Perverted Justice posed as a 13-year-old girl in an Internet chat room and arranged to meet men at a South Portland residence.
