A Corinna man was charged with burglary on Wednesday after he allegedly forged signatures on checks taken during an earlier burglary of a home on Route 23 in Dexter.
Lloyd Burnham, 29, also is expected to be charged with forgery at a later date, according to Dexter Police Chief Art Roy.
Roy said entry into the home on July 21 was through a garage window. During the investigation, Roy said some contractors working in the immediate area of the home provided information about the burglar. A checkbook was stolen from the home and the owner’s signature was forged on at least five checks, he said. Roy alleged that Burnham had other people deposit them in their accounts for him.
