With gasoline selling at about $4 a gallon there is a dramatic rise in the number of bicycles on the road. When I took the test to get my driver’s license there was a requirement to understand and know the rules governing bicycles. Nowadays drivers do not seem to know that bicycles have a right on the road and in fact are considered vehicles governed by the same rules as cars.
It is about time that someone made an effort to educate not only the operators of automobiles but also those on bicycles about the rules of the road. I regularly see bicycles running stop signs and red lights. This is a nightmare waiting to happen and it just does not need to happen.
