Beaulieu, Owls prevail in OT

MARS HILL – Nathan Beaulieu scored the game-winning goal off a corner kick with 1:47 remaining in overtime to lift Madawaska to a 2-1 victory over Central Aroostook in a schoolboy soccer matchup Monday.

Andrew Deschaine scored with 24 minutes left to tie the game for Madawaska. Nate Beaulieu and D.J. Gendreau combined for four saves on 16 shots for the 2-0 Owls.

Brendan York scored in the first half for Central Aroostook. Logan McLaughlin stopped four of 15 shots for the 0-2 Panthers.

Easton 3, Wisdom 1

At Easton, Corey White scored second-half goals 2:33 apart to help Easton upend Wisdom of St. Agatha.

Brad Trask scored in the first half for 2-0 Easton, which took a 3-0 lead.

Jonah Bacon had an assist and Cody Tompkins made nine saves on 18 shots.

Alex Michaud scored for Wisdom and Curtis Collins made 16 stops on 34 shots.

LCS/MSSM 2, Washburn 1

At Limestone, Dylan Morgan netted two goals to power Limestone Community School/ Maine School of Science and Mathematics by Washburn.

Cody Bryant made 10 saves on 14 shots for the Eagles.

Jordan McLaughlin scored for Washburn while Justin Howe stopped six of 16 shots for the Beavers.

Girls soccer

Madawaska 8, Cen. Aroostook 0

At Mars Hill, Susan Lavertu knocked in three goals to lead Madawaska past Central Aroostook.

Valerie Parker scored one goal and assisted on another by Erin Dugal for the 1-1 Owls. Nicole Cyr, Kallie Pelletier and Audrey Bergeron added a goal apiece. Stephanie and Amanda Nadeau combined for four saves on seven shots.

Desray Brewer and Vicki McIntyre stopped nine of 27 shots for the 0-2 Panthers.

LCS/MSSM 3, Washburn 2

At Limestone, Rylee Leighton scored the game-winning goal with 3:49 left in the game to lead Limestone Community School/Maine School of Science and Mathematics by Washburn.

Victoria St. Pierre and Lanae Denslow each scored a goal in the first half for Limestone. Audra Kirk made eight saves on 20 shots for the Eagles.

Sarah Sjoberg and Morgan Berube each netted a goal for Washburn in the first half. Rachel Palmer stopped 13 of 17 shots for the Beavers.

Van Buren 2, Fort Fairfield 1

At Van Buren, Jennifer Ouellette scored one goal and assisted on another by Lindsay LaJoie as Van Buren triumphed.

Kelly Vaillancourt assisted on Ouellette’s goal for the 1-0 Crusaders. Ashlie Wilson had 16 saves on 17 shots.

Rosemary Williams scored for 1-1 Fort Fairfield. Paige Beaulieu turned away 12 of 14 shots.
