The University of Maine women’s soccer team was picked to finish fourth in the America East preseason coaches poll released Monday. Maine coach Scott Atherley returns 13 letterwinners off last year’s team, which went 6-8-3, 4-3-1 in AE play.

Boston University was chosen to win the conference, garnering eight first-place votes and 64 points overall. New Hampshire (one, 52), and Stony Brook (56) followed by Maine (45), Hartford (40), Binghamton (26), Albany (23), Vermont (19) and Maryland Baltimore County (9).

Maine opens its season Saturday at 1 p.m. in Orono against Sacred Heart (Conn.).
