GOOSE COVE – Two people aboard a 41-foot sailboat that ran aground Thursday evening off the coast of Hancock County were rescued by a good Samaritan.
The boat, named Great White, was hung up on Goose Cove Rock near West Tremont shortly after 5:30 p.m., Thomas Sands of the U.S. Coast Guard in Southwest Harbor said Thursday.
There were two people aboard the sailboat and an unknown passer-by successfully towed it off the rock, Sands said. No one was injured.
