Maine GOP holding ‘Super Saturday’ today

PORTLAND – The Maine Republican Party says its “Victory ’08” campaign has organized “Super Saturday,” a day of door-to-door campaigning and volunteer phone banks across Maine today, including in Bangor.

“We have hundreds of volunteers dedicated to helping Republican candidates on the ticket this November, including electing John McCain for president, re-electing Sen. Susan Collins, electing our Republican congressional candidates and candidates for state and local offices,” said Maine Republican Party Chairman Mark Ellis. “Saturday is going to be an outstanding show of support for Republican candidates on November’s ballot.”

Phone banks will take place in party offices in Bangor, Portland, Lewiston and Augusta. Door-to-door canvassing will take place in communities across Maine. Those interested in participating may call 891-9562 for information on activities in their community.
