Good Will-Hinckley, a school in Hinckley that seeks to change the lives of youths in need of a helping hand, has appointed John R. Massaua to the newly created position of director of business development. “We are pleased to have John join us; we are sure his extensive business acumen will be of real value to our developing strategy of entrepreneurially using our many assets … to the advantage of our students, alumni and the community in general,” said Neil Colan, CEO of Good Will-Hinckley. Massaua spent the last 10 years with the Maine Small Business Development Centers, a U.S. Small Business Administration and state of Maine partnership program headquartered at the University of Southern Maine. Massaua and his wife, Janice, live in China Village. Good Will-Hinckley, founded in 1889, is a residential school that accepts 11- to 21-year-olds who have experienced social, emotional or behavioral difficulties, learning challenges or family strife.

Tony Guerriero has joined Katahdin Cedar Log Homes of Oakfield as regional sales manager for Connecticut, New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania. Well-known in the log home industry as “Tony G,” Guerriero has more than 30 years’ experience, working most recently at Lincoln Logs Ltd. as a regional dealer-manager. “We are very pleased to have Tony on our team,” said David Gordon, president of Katahdin Cedar Log Homes. “He brings a tremendous amount of expertise and has made many friends at the more than 100 log home shows he’s participated in over the years.” A resident of Woolrich, Pa., Guerriero studied architectural drafting at Pennsylvania Tech in Williamsport, Pa. Before his move to log homes with Asperline Log Homes, he worked as a draftsman in the construction trade. Founded in 1973, Katahdin Cedar Log Homes is one of the largest log home manufacturers in the U.S. and is the largest processor of Northern White Cedar in the world.

Jo Desmond, a personal property and fine arts appraiser with Desmond Fine Art of Belfast, has achieved accredited senior appraiser status with the American Society of Appraisers in Herndon, Va. The American Society of Appraisers, representing more than 5,000 appraisers, is the only professional society that accredits appraisers in six disciplines: personal property, gems and jewelry, business valuation, real property, machinery and technical specialties, and appraisal review and management.

Wendy Maselli was recently honored by UPS for completing 20 years of service with the company. Maselli is a package car driver with UPS in Brewer. She began her career in 1988 as a part-time package handler with the company. Maselli and her husband, Robert, live in Brewer.
