BANGOR – Sports Radio 620 WZON set a single-morning record by raising more than $10,000 during its 13th annual Jimmy Fund Radiothon and Auction.

WZON listeners bid on Red Sox, Celtics and Patriots packages, including tickets and memorabilia. All proceeds went directly to the Jimmy Fund, the official charity of the Boston Red Sox and a fundraiser for the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute of Boston.

“We owe all of the thanks to the great WZON listeners right here in eastern and central Maine,” said Clem LaBree, broadcast producer. “It never ceases to amaze us that even in this time of expensive gas, oil and food, the people of Maine always come through big time.”

WZON’s Dale Duff, Jeff Solari, Pat Spekhardt and LaBree hosted the four-hour event live on WZON from 8 a.m.-noon on Aug. 15.
