Basic training

OLD TOWN – Airman Gary J. Fearon, son of Carla Fearon of Old Town, completed basic training Aug. 15 at Lackland Air Force Base Academy, San Antonio. He graduated with honors.

Gary Fearon was trained in the fundamental skills necessary to be successful in an Expeditionary Air Force. This includes basic war skills, military discipline, physical fitness, drill and ceremonies, Air Force core values and a comprehensive range of subjects relating to Air Force life.

Since completion of basic training, Fearon has begun aerospace ground technical training at Sheppard Air Force Base in Texas.

After he completes technical training school, Fearon will return to Maine to attend the University of Maine to study criminology.

BANGOR – Army Reserve Pvt. Sarah Welch graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. A 2005 graduate of Bangor High School, Welch is the daughter of Rebecca Chasse of Altoona, Pa., and granddaughter of Jody Chasse of Bangor.

OLD TOWN – Air National Guard Airman 1st Class Tucker Bonnevie graduated with distinction and as an honor graduate from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio. Bonnevie, a 2002 graduate of Hampden Academy, is the son of Tina Hatcher of Old Town.

BANGOR – Army Pvt. Amber Dyer recently graduated from basic training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. She is the daughter of Valerie Dyer of Bangor.

BANGOR – Air Force Airman Richard Clark graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio. A 2006 graduate of Bangor High School, Clark is the son of Debbie Martin of Bangor.
