OLD TOWN – The funeral for Sonya Barclay, the Old Town woman whose battle with cancer inspired residents and businesses in the area to build a new home for her family, will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Old Town United Methodist Church.

Visiting hours will be 2-8 p.m. Saturday at Birmingham’s Funeral Home, also in Old Town.

Barclay died early Wednesday morning at Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor. She had been in the hospital since Saturday.

Barclay, her husband Jeff, and their four children moved into the new home May 27, about three weeks after their old trailer on the same property was razed.
