Workshop focuses on business startups

MACHIAS – Thinking of starting a business but overwhelmed by all the details?

Women, Work and Community and the Women’s Business Center at CEI will offer a free three-session workshop for individuals interested in the basics of starting a business 5:30-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 23, at the CareerCenter in Machias.

This introductory workshop series is designed for those thinking about or in the early startup phase of a new business. Sessions will answer questions, discuss the pros and cons of being an entrepreneur and explain how to create a business plan. Other topics to be covered include marketing, pricing, and cash flow planning.

Class sessions will also occur at the same time and place Sept. 30 and Oct. 7. Attendance at all three sessions is required and preregistration is a must. For more information or to register, contact Georgiana Kendall, coordinator for Women, Work and Community at 454-1045 or at 800-442-2092.

WBC at CEI workshops is funded in part through a Cooperative Agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration. Reasonable accommodations for persons with disabilities will be made if requested at least two weeks in advance.
