Bangor Gun Show set at Auditorium Sept. 6-7

The Penobscot County Conservation Association will host the 31st annual Bangor Gun Show at the Bangor Auditorium on Sept. 6-7.

The show will run from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Saturday and from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Sunday.

Admission is $6, $5 for current law enforcement officers, military personnel and NRA members. Children under 12 get in free with an adult. Those who join the NRA at the show will also get in free.

Proceeds from the event are used to fund college scholarships for wildlife conservation students.

Bike event planned

The Aroostook Medical Center and the National Health Service Corps are hosting a Fat Tire Festival in Presque Isle on Sept. 27-28.

Saturday features Mountain Bike Fun Day events including an adventure relay, bike tours, a bike rodeo and a downhill race.

Sunday is race day, with the MMBA point series cross country mountain bike finale.

Activities will be available for all ages. Bike vendors will be on hand and food will be available.
