KENDUSKEAG – Maine Department of Transportation will close a section of the Kenduskeag-Levant Road in Kenduskeag so work crews can replace a deteriorating culvert. Work begins 6 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 2.
Traffic will be detoured around the construction as crews replace a four-foot-wide culvert. The road is expected to be closed until Friday, September 5, but could be opened earlier if the work proceeds faster than planned.
The culvert is located approximately 1,000 feet southwest of the intersection of the Clark Road and the Kenduskeag-Levant Road. Signs will direct motorists to alternate routes around the traffic.
