ORONO – The Orono Village Festival will kick off at 7 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 6, with a pancake breakfast that runs until 9:30 a.m. at the Orono Fire Station.
Other festival events will include:
. 8 a.m. – Yard sale sponsored by Orono Community Theater at Bank of America parking lot.
. 9 a.m. – Vendor booths open.
. 10 a.m. – Julie Monroe & Ms. Ellie perform children’s songs.
. 11 a.m. – Children’s games open.
. 11:15 a.m. – The Intruders perform.
All of the above events will be held on Mill Street unless otherwise noted.
During the festival, the Orono Land Trust will offer two guided natural history walks led by Jeremy Wilson, University of Maine assistant professor of forest management. The first trip along the Orono Land Trust’s Stillwater River Trail will begin at 10 a.m., followed by a second walk at noon.
To sign up, visit the Orono Land Trust booth at least 15 minutes prior to tour departure time.
People of all ages are invited to participate, but organizers note that the walk will follow an unpaved trail along the river. Children must be accompanied by an adult, and dogs must be on a leash.
