CORINTH – In excess of $50,000 worth of jewelry and cash were stolen between Sunday night and early Monday morning from the Richard Dunham residence on Route 15 in Corinth.

The family was away when the break-in occurred, according to Trooper Matt Grant of the Maine State Police. A safe was stolen from the house. Grant said Dunham has posted a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the person or people involved.

Grant declined to give specifics about what valuables were taken or how entry was gained, other than to say entry was forced. Dunham is associated with his family’s business, Merle “Sam” Dunham Well Drilling of Corinth.

Anyone who may have information about the break-in or who may have seen activity around the home Sunday night or early Monday morning is asked to call the Maine State Police in Orono at 866-2121 or 800-432-7381.
