TRENTON – An Ellsworth man was reported in stable condition at Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor after a motorcycle accident Sunday night, according to Hancock County sheriff’s Deputy Luke Gross.
Clayton Conklin, 48, of Ellsworth was on Bayside Road around 8 p.m. Sunday when the motorcycle he was driving crashed into a utility pole. It is unclear what caused the accident, but the police report said that “it appeared the motorcycle skidded some distance before striking a utility pole,” Gross said. Conklin wasn’t wearing a helmet.
A LifeFlight helicopter was called to take Conklin to EMMC.
