Brandon A. Joy has joined the United States Army under the Delayed Entry Program. A 2008 graduate of Glen Oak High School, Canton, Ohio, Joy has reported to Fort Benning, Columbus, Ga., for basic training in 2008.
He is the son of Tammy Moorehead of Treeside Street N.W., Canton, and Richard Joy of Joy Lane, Orrington.
Army National Guard Pvt. Matthew M. Wheaton has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.
He is the son of Christine Mable of Holly Street, Manchester, N.H., and Rodney Wheaton of Rush Boulevard, Millinocket.
Army National Guard Pfc. Allen S. Crooker has returned to the 169th Military Police Company, Bangor, after being deployed to an overseas forward operating base in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
The private is a military police officer with seven years of military service.
He is the son of Karen Lufkin of Western Avenue, Dixmont, and Scott M. Crooker of Main Road South, Hampden.
Crooker is a 2002 graduate of Nokomis Regional High School, Newport.
