WATERVILLE – An off-track betting parlor in Waterville will forfeit more than $60,000 as part of a consent agreement for operating illegally for more than two months.
The Maine Harness Racing Commission on Wednesday entered into the agreement with Autotote, the company that operates the OTB at John Martin’s Manor.
Autotote admitted it inadvertently operated with the wrong kind of license for 71 days in June and July. Instead of having a restaurant license as required by law, it had only a lounge license.
As part of the agreement, Autotote will forfeit more than $60,000 from its share of slot machine profits from the Hollywood Slots casino in Bangor. But it will keep profits it made at John Martin’s Manor during that time.
