PRESQUE ISLE -Intellectually curious adults age 50 and older are invited to preview fall course offerings at a Students Achieving Greater Education kickoff to be held starting at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 17, in the University of Maine at Presque Isle Campus Center.

Registered students can meet instructors and learn about fall classes and excursions. Cost is $5.50 per ticket, with lunch provided.

Now in its 11th year, the SAGE program offers courses that vary in length from 3 to 8 weeks and range from lectures and discussions to field trips and hands-on learning. This fall’s courses will include: Inspired Drawing, Moving to Music, Under the Big Top Film Series, Aroostook Folk Music, The Constitution, Financial Foundations, Existential French Literature in Translation, The Eskimos of the Kuskokwim River, and You and the Universe: A Personal Guide. Learning excursions available include visits to Northwind Rabbitry, the Ashland Logging Museum, Northern Prosthetics, a traditional snowshoe maker, and a World War II POW site in Houlton.
