Penobscot River Unified Atlantic Salmon banquet is Oct. 18

The fourth annual Penobscot River Unified Atlantic Salmon banquet will be held at the Bangor Banquet and Conference Center on Oct. 18.

The club is a joint effort of the Eddington, Veazie and Penobscot salmon clubs.

A social hour will be held from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m., and dinner will be served at 7.

Tickets are available for $40 per person. Tables for eight can be reserved for $320.

DU banquet and auction on tap

The Downeast chapter of Ducks Unlimited will present its 37th annual fund-raising banquet and auction on Friday.

The event will be held at Bangor Banquet and Conference Center beginning at 5:30 p.m.

Ticket prices are $50 for a single and $70 for a couple. The ticket fee includes dinner and Ducks Unlimited membership.

Live and silent auctions will be held and several raffles are on tap.

Since its founding in 1937, DU has raised more than $2.5 billion, which has contributed to the conservation of more than 11.9 million acres of prime wildlife habitat in all 50 states, each of the Canadian provinces and in key areas of Mexico.
