MADISON – Police in the town of Madison are investigating the theft of marijuana plants used legally for medicinal purposes.

Donald LaRouche reported over the weekend that two mature marijuana plants were stolen from his backyard.

LaRouche is one of the original members of the marijuana advocacy group Maine Vocals, and he has paperwork detailing his legal right to raise marijuana to treat chronic medical conditions.

LaRouche told the Morning Sentinel newspaper that he has a doctor’s order for the drug. He says he suffers from glaucoma, chronic pain, muscle spasms and Crohn’s disease.
