Danielle O’Brien

Danielle O’Brien of the University of Maine-Farmington earned North Atlantic Conference volleyball player of the week. The senior middle hitter from Calais made 35 kills in 79 attempts during the week, including 13 kills plus eight digs in a 3-2 win over NAC preseason favorite Husson on Saturday.

Heather Moore

Heather Moore, a freshman setter for Maine Maritime Academy of Castine, was named NAC volleyball rookie of the week after collecting 43 assists, eight kills and eight digs in three matches. For her efforts, she was also named to the Colby College Invitational all-tourney team.

Samantha Homer

Samantha Homer scored four goals and added an assist as Husson College of Bangor defeated Purchase 6-0, gaining NAC women’s soccer player of the week honors.

Sean Raph

Sophomore forward Sean Raph scored the game-winner in the University of Maine-Farmington’s 3-0 season-opening win over Unity and was named NAC men’s soccer rookie of the week.

Julia Ostrowski

Junior forward Julia Ostrowski led Saint Joseph’s College of Standish with three goals and an assist in an 8-0 win over Regis on Saturday. Her performance earned her NAC field hockey player of the week honors.

Brittany Moore

Freshman forward Brittany Moore was named NAC field hockey rookie of the week after she scored the lone goal in Thomas College of Waterville’s season opener, then added two goals and an assist in a win over Regis on Sunday.

Mike Hersey

Freshman Mike Hersey was the medalist with a 68 as Husson College of Bangor tied a school record with a 287 team total in winning the University of Maine-Presque Isle golf tournament at Presque Isle Country Club. Hersey was named NAC player of the week.

Alysn Ludwig

Saint Joseph’s College senior Alysn Ludwig was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week. Ludwig had a time of 13:41 in the 2-Mile Runnin’ Monks Early Bird Meet.

Matt Cotreau

Junior Matt Cotreau of Saint Joseph’s College was honored as the GNAC Golf of the Week. Cotreau was the medalist by shooting a four-over par 73 at the U-New England Invitational.

Julia Ostrowski

Saint Joseph’s College junior Julia Ostrowski was named the GNAC Field Hockey Player of the Week. Ostrowski had three goals and an assist in an 8-0 win over Regis College.

Ryan Prescott

Senior Ryan Prescott of Saint Joseph’s College was honored as the Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week by the Great Northeast Athletic Conference. Prescott earned a second-place finish in the Runnin’ Monks Early Bird 5K with a time of 16:44.

Samantha Varrell

Saint Joseph’s College freshman Samantha Varrell was honored as the GNAC Volleyball Rookie of the Week. Varrell has 17 assists and 11 digs against Green Mountain College and added 19 assists and 10 digs in the SJC Autumn Invitational championship match. She was also named to the All-Tournament Team.

Bobby Britten

Saint Joseph’s College freshman Bobby Britten was named the GNAC Men’s Cross Country Rookie of the Week. Britten finished 15th in the Runnin’ Monks Early Bird 5K meet. He was the second Monk to cross the line.
