BANGOR – The United Bikers of Maine will hold their 27th annual Toy Run at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 14.
The parade of bikers will leave the Augusta Civic Center at 1 p.m. and travel on Interstate 95 to Exit 113, ending at the Windsor Fairgrounds on Windsor Street, Route 32. Attendees and riders are encouraged to donate unwrapped toys for families in need. Representatives from each Maine county will collect the donations from the Toy Run for regional distribution.
The event will feature a DJ, food and clothing vendors, and a belt sander drag race sponsored by Central Maine Power Tools Racing Association. Registration for the race will begin at noon at the Windsor Fair Grounds. Trophies for first-, second- and third-place winners will be awarded along with a number of other prizes. The cost to register is $10 per person, and 50 percent of the proceeds will be donated to the toy run. For information on the race, call Terry Robinson at 582-1773 or Todd Meader at 582-1873.
The Toy Run has collected more than 1 million toys for Maine children in need since its inception in 1981.
