Bangor trips up Eagles in 2OT

BANGOR – Dana Libhart scored off an assist from Casey Pray with 50 seconds remaining in the second overtime to lead the Bangor Rams to a 3-2 high school field hockey victory over the Mount Ararat Eagles Friday.

Brittany Chapman scored twice for 2-0 Bangor, with Libhart and Pray posting the assists. Hilary Babin and Melissa Mower each made four saves on six shots.

Holly Christopher scored both goals for 0-3 Mount Ararat of Topsham, including the game-tying tally with less than three minutes left in regulation. Kelly Galek made seven saves on 13 shots.

JV: Bangor 2-0

Hermon 1, MA Lynx 0

At Lincoln, Courtney Hawes scored an unassisted goal with 5:42 remaining in the second half, lifting the Hawks to victory over the Lynx.

Jamie Roy made eight saves on 15 shots for 2-2 Hermon.

Vinni Nesin had three saves on eight shots for 2-2 Mattanawcook Academy of Lincoln.

JV: Mattanawcook, 1-0

Girls soccer

John Bapst 3, Hermon 0

At Hermon, Morgan Chasse scored three goals, all in the first half, to propel John Bapst of Bangor to victory.

Laura Jordan made four saves on four shots for the 2-0 Crusaders.

Danielle Ross made seven saves on 10 shots for 1-2 Hermon.

JV: John Bapst 3-1

Old Town 3, Bucksport 2

At Bucksport, Katie Deshane scored her third goal of the game, this one off an assist from Erin St. Peter, with 16:09 remaining to break a 2-2 tie and lift the Indians to victory.

Deshane had two unassisted goals for 3-0 Old Town. Annie Cashon made six saves on 12 shots.

Sadie Wight and Meagan Harriman registered unassisted goals for 0-2 Bucksport. Carrie Daigle made eight saves on 11 shots.

Greenville 5, Richmond 1

At Richmond, McKenna Peat scored two goals as the Lakers earned their first victory of the season.

Tiffany Howard, Ruby Rockwell and Gretel Breton each added a goal for 1-0-1 Greenville, while Nikki Hamilton and Miranda Drinkwater had two assists apiece.

Sidney Richardson made seven saves on 17 shots for Greenville.

Danica Hurley scored for 1-1 Richmond, while Lindsey Hoopingarner made 13 saves on 32 shots.

Boys soccer

John Bapst 4, Hermon 2

At Dorothea Dix Psychiatric Center Field in Bangor, Jordan Meyers registered a goal and an assist to spark the Crusaders to victory.

Miles Gagnon, Jason McBurnie and Andrew Babbitt each scored a goal for 1-1-1 John Bapst. Casey Hull was the goalkeeper for the Crusaders.

Jerimy McIntyre and Kevin Tarr tallied a goal each for 0-3 Hermon. McIntyre also played in goal for the Hawks.

Old Town 6, Foxcroft Acad. 1

At Dover-Foxcroft, Luke Bartlett scored three goals and assisted on two more to lead the Old Town Coyotes past the host Ponies.

Janis Schaefer had two goals and two assists for the 3-1 Coyotes. Chad Paradis had a goal and an assist. Alex Cavallero and Lee Larry combined to make two saves on five shots.

Ellsworth Bell scored an unassisted goal for the 0-3 Ponies. Diego De la Torre made 19 saves on 25 shots.

JV: Old Town 2-0

Richmond 5, Greenville 0

At Richmond, Jason Brown and Joey Scribellito each posted a goal and an assist to power the Bobcats to victory.

Nick Woods, Josh Brown and Mike Christie also scored goals, with Eric Murrin adding an assist for 3-0 Richmond. Bruce Carver made 12 saves on 12 shots.

Alex Jardine made 11 saves on 15 shots and Emerson Sikes came up with 15 saves on 16 shots for 1-1 Greenville.

Presque Isle 5, Central 0

At Presque Isle, Josh Allen scored two goals and Russ Mortland had a goal and two assists as the Wildcats remained unbeaten.

Eric Morris and Wilder York also scored for 3-0-1 Presque Isle, while Warren Zubrick and Carter Christianson each added an assist.

Dillon Kingsbury stopped all seven shots he faced to earn the win in goal.

Cole Haskell made 18 saves on 23 shots for 1-1-2 Central of Corinth.

JV: Presque Isle 7-1

Katahdin 4, So. Aroostook 2

At Dyer Brook, Ethan Qualey scored four goals, including a natural hat trick in the first half, as Katahdin of Stacyville remained undefeated.

Marshall Davis had two assists for the 4-0 Cougars, while Matt Carr made 18 saves on 21 shots.

David Dubois and Patrick Goodall each scored for 2-3-1 Southern Aroostook, while Dakota Sleeper and Jake Lassonde each contributed an assist. Dillon Boulier made 18 saves on 23 shots for the Warriors.

Wisdom 7, Van Buren 1

At St. Agatha, Kody Chamberland scored three of his four goals in the second half to power the Pioneers to victory.

Alex Michaud and Kurtis Daigle each provided a goal and an assists for the 3-6 Pioneers, while Rocky Chamberland, Kody’s twin brother, scored one goal. Curtis Daigle made 11 saves on 13 shots.

Derrik Rossignol scored for 1-8 Van Buren. David Levasseur came up with 10 saves on 27 shots.
