CASTINE – Gabriel Prophet threw a 2-yard touchdown pass to Jacques Faubles and a Raheim Bass interception and 64-yard return set up Paul Casimir’s 2-yard touchdown run that rallied Becker from a 26-20 deficit to a 34-32 college football win over Maine Maritime Academy Saturday.

Nick Bourassa’s 8-yard touchdown run capped an 80-yard drive to pull MMA within two with 51 seconds left but Bourassa’s potential game-tying two-point conversion run was stacked up by the Becker defense.

Maine Maritime Academy built a 20-6 lead on Jim Bower’s 48-yard touchdown run, Todd Murphy’s 16-yard scamper and Bower’s 3-yard run.

Clinton 35, UMaine 6

At Clinton, Mass., John Riccio threw for two first-half touchdowns to propel the Clinton Irish Blizzard to a big early league and an Eastern Football League victory over the University of Maine club team.

Ty Gamble and Richard Joslin and James Branchflower each turned in touchdown runs for the winners.

The Black Bears (0-2) got a 98-yard scoring pass from Brett Davison to Justin Mattos.

UMaine suffered key injuries to Steve Siviski and Jim Quinn during the first two minutes of the contest.
