HARRINGTON – Chad James broke a 2-2 tie by scoring with 12 minutes left in the second half to help lift the Woodland Dragons to a 4-2 schoolboy soccer win over the Narraguagus Knights Monday.

Brad Arthurs scored two goals for 3-1 Woodland. Andy Brown added a goal. Ryan Lincoln turned away six of 10 shots.

Jesse Worcester and Brenden Tenney scored for the 2-2 Knights. Dustin Gidney assisted both goals. Tenney and Cameron Jordan stopped five of 10 shots.

Katahdin 8, Schenck 0

At Stacyville, Marshall Davis scored four goals and assisted two others at Katahdin shut out Schenck of East Millinocket.

Ethan Qualey had two goals and two assists for the 5-0 Cougars. Billy Duffy also scored two goals and Colby Gallagher provided an assist. Jesse McNally stopped five of 10 shots.

Jerome York made 14 saves on 28 shots for 0-3-1 Schenck.

Machias 5, Jonesport-Beals 1

At Jonesport, Jacob Dahl’s three goals propelled Machias past Jonesport-Beals.

Jacob Stevens and Matt Little added a goal apiece for the 4-0 Bulldogs. Michael Jenkins had six saves on nine shots.

Zack Fenton netted the lone goal for 0-3 Jonesport Beals. Sid Look saved 40 of 49 shots.

Washington Acad. 2, Calais 0

At East Machias, Sung Min Kim and Noah Von Rotz scored unassisted second-half goals to lead Washington Academy past Calais.

Sophomore Sam Stevens blocked 20 of 25 shots to earn his first shutout for the 3-1 Raiders.

Jordan Leeman made 20 saves on 25 shots for 1-1 Calais.

JV: Washington Acad. 3-2

Piscataquis 2, Penquis 1 (2OT)

At Milo, Brian Hackett scored the winning goal off a Damien Bridges assist 52 seconds into the second overtime to lead Piscataquis of Guilford past Penquis.

Nolan Lovell tied it with 2:28 left in regulation for 1-3-1 Piscataquis. Kyle Curtis assisted Lovell’s goal. Corbin Shufelt made 14 saves on 19 shots.

Bryan Russell scored 57 seconds into the second half off a Ryan Bailey assist. Richie Russell blocked 11 of 19 shots for 1-2 Penquis.

Bangor Christian 6, Sumner 1

At Bangor, Brett Bradford scored three goals and provided an assist as Bangor Christian defeated Sumner of East Sullivan.

Matt Swanson had a goal and an assist for the 3-0 Patriots. Zach Welch and Brandon Wilcox also scored. Bruce Lee and Andrew Vicnaire provided assists. Tim Whitaker blocked one of two shots.

Woody Huber scored an unassisted goal in the second half for 0-5 Sumner. Josh Ring made 16 saves on 36 shots.

Orono 8, Searsport 1

At Searsport, Gracen Malave had a hat trick with three goals as Orono defeated Searsport.

Jacob Stoddard had two goals and an assist for 2-2 Orono. Paul Ohno, Lee Hecker and Dan Lesser also scored. Nick Peterson provided two assists. A.J. Coleman and Kerry Eaton combined for four saves on seven shots.

Chris Gillo scored off a Evan Kingsbury assists for 1-4 Searsport. Dan Peach blocked 31 of 40 shots.

Ellsworth 7, Foxcroft Acad. 2

At Ellsworth, Pat Kelley, Matt Duhaime and Zach Emeigh each scored two goals as Ellsworth beat Foxcroft Academy.

Andrew Austin added a goal for the 3-0-1 Eagles. Kelley, Emeigh and Kyle Haslam provided assists. Jordan Carter and Justin Kane combined for three saves on five shots.

David Hwang and Kim Kim scored for 0-4 Foxcroft Academy. Jason Lee made nine saves on 17 shots.

JV: Ellsworth 5-0

Penobscot Val. 1, Dexter 1 (2OT)

At Howland, Penobscot Valley’s Jacob Jones and Dexter’s Andrew Lary didn’t allow a goal through two overtimes.

C.J. Giles scored an unassisted goal to tie it with four minutes remaining in regulation for 2-0-2 Dexter. Lary blocked 12 of 16 shots.

Robin Buttery scored 37:48 into the first half for 3-0-1 Penobscot Valley. Jones turned away 16 of 19 shots.

JV: 0-0

Field hockey

Central 2, John Bapst 1

At Bangor, Berta Trafton one-timed a pass from Kaitlyn Stymiest past Megan Smith with eight minutes remaining to give Central its win over John Bapst.

Stymiest had opened the scoring off a Taryn Pineo assist in the first half before Marianne Ferguson equalized off a Danielle Caron pass later in the half.

Brittany Cole made 10 saves on 15 shots for 2-2 Central while 1-3 John Bapst received five saves on 10 shots from Smith.
