ORONO – University of Maine women’s ice hockey head coach Dan Lichterman announced that Karine Senecal was hired as an assistant coach.
Senecal was the team’s graduate assistant coach for the 2007-08 season.
She will have an expanded role this season, overseeing the team’s fundraising and community service, breaking down game film, constructing strategies and organizing road trips. Senecal will also conduct forward-specific practices.
Senecal is a 2007 University of Maine graduate and former women’s ice hockey player. In four years, she scored two goals and had 19 assists for 21 points. She also received the Presidential Pin Award for Human Development. She was named a Maine Scholar-Athlete all four years and to the Hockey East All-Academic Team her final two years. She was named a Top Scholar-Athlete in Women’s Hockey East.
