Workshops scheduled for Italian, Spanish

ROCKLAND – Penobscot School is offering two language workshops in October.

A two-day workshop on “Italian for Travelers” will be held consecutive from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays, Oct. 4 and 11. The workshop will be taught by Carmelo Patane of Sicily. Fee for the workshop is $160.

A one day “Spanish for Travelers” workshop will be held Saturday, Oct. 18, taught by Estela Otero, who grew up speaking Spanish. She hosts the Cena y Cine – dinner and a movie, Spanish-style – at Penobscot School. The workshop fee is $90.

The workshops will take place at the Penobscot School, 28 Gay St.

Penobscot School is a nonprofit center for language learning and international exchange offering intensive three-week English classes for non-English speakers during summer and classes in several foreign languages for the community during the rest of the year.
